Tim Cook is donating $1 million to Trump’s inauguration, too

Apple CEO Tim Cook is the next tech executive to donate $1 million to President-elect Donald Trump’s inaugural committee, according to Axios. Cook’s donation follows a similar pledge OpenAI CEO Sam Altmanfounder of Amazon Jeff Bezos via Amazonand Yuan Big tech companies and executives are working hard to curry favor with the incoming administration.

Cook developed a closer personal relationship with Trump than any other tech CEO during his first term. Looking to copy. he is one of many Congratulations Trump after winning on Election Day, and Axios Cook reportedly met with Trump at Trump Tower and Mar-a-Lago in Florida.

Unnamed sources revealed Axios “Cook is a proud Alabamian who believes the inauguration is a great American tradition and is donating to the inauguration in a spirit of unity.” Apple “does not expect” to donate to the inauguration. The company did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
