Today’s Massive Switch 2 Leak Reveals Dimensions And Screen Size
Is the Nintendo Switch 2 the most leaked console in recent memory?
Nintendo Switch 2 leaks are popping up like a fire hose right now. After yesterday amazing discovery that Genki makes mold-based accessories for Switch 2 real A console he somehow acquired on the black market, infamous insider OnLeaks posted a 360-degree video of the next-gen console with detailed dimensions.
This time the leak occurred thanks to 91mobilewhich published the information in direct collaboration with OnLeaks. The short video below gives us a 360-degree view of the Switch 2. In my opinion, this matches the video that Genki posted on their device almost perfectly. Switch 2 pages of accessorieswhich shows various products such as Joy-Con grips and chargers interacting with the new console.
The button layout is identical. The sleek black finish with subtle pops of blue and orange on the Joy-Cons looks identical. The same goes for the U-shaped stand. However, in the OnLeaks video we see the correct labels on the face buttons. The striking similarities between these two leaks certainly add some credibility to them.
But I have to say that if this color scheme turns out to be real, I’ll be surprised—and very happy—to see Nintendo introduce a sleeker, more “grown-up” look at launch. How far it has strayed from the purple lunch box! However, in the future, I’m sure we’ll see a healthy palette of console and Joy-Con color options for those who want a splash of color.

Nintendo Switch 2 Screen Size and Dimensions
This leak gets even more interesting in the detailed dimensions of the console. OnLeaks shared the following numbers, which, as expected, make the Switch 2 larger than the launch and OLED models of the original Switch.
In terms of overall dimensions, we’re guessing they’ll be 271 x 116.4 x 31.4mm with the Joy-Cons attached. Compare this to the launch model: 239 x 102 x 14 mm. Overall the system feels a little thicker, probably for a more robust cooling system.
The Joy-Cons have also increased slightly in size, with the report saying the new controllers measure 116.4 x 40.8 x 31.4mm, compared to the original Joy-Con dimensions of 102 x 35.9 x 28.4mm.
Things get really interesting when we look at screen size. OnLeaks claims it measures 8.4 inches, but I firmly believe it’s the glass panel and not the display itself. The actual 8.4-inch display seems too big for a Nintendo gamebook. After all, massive Lenovo Legion Go 2 boasts an 8.8-inch display. I think that even an 8-inch screen will likely be good, meaning that the screen area will increase by almost 30%. This would make this aspect of the device larger than the Steam Deck and Asus ROG Ally.
Nintendo still has cards to play with
Nintendo is taking its time to talk about the Switch 2 in detail, but I’m still eagerly awaiting the official announcement. To anyone saying that Nintendo has nothing to reveal at the moment, I would say that a console is nothing without its software, and hopefully Nintendo will have something to show in that regard.
After all, it’s the games and the overall user experience that have repeatedly made Nintendo’s low-power systems such huge successes.
Plus, there’s that mysterious “C” button that’s worth talking about. Perhaps it is used for AR? Perhaps to wirelessly connect the console to the docking station? There’s bound to be some interesting hook that makes the Switch sequel more than just a spec upgrade.
Nintendo has promised to introduce Switch 2 by the end of March. In the meantime, Nintendo would like to distract you with this LEGO Game Boy.
