Trump announces new tech policy picks for his second term

in a pair truth society post On Sunday, Donald Trump announced a slate of picks for his administration’s technology policy team, which will report to Trump’s “artificial intelligence and cryptocurrency czar” David Sacks. Those picks include Michael Kratsios, who would lead the Office of Science and Technology Policy (OSTP) if confirmed by the Senate.

Kratsios served as White House chief technology officer during Trump’s first term and briefly served as acting deputy secretary of defense toward the end of his term. He later became managing director of Scale AI and has been helping lead Trump’s technology policy transition team.

The president-elect also appointed his former deputy chief technology officer, Dr. Lynne Parker, as executive director of the President’s Council of Advisors on Science and Technology. The President’s Digital Asset Advisory Council, also known as the “Cryptocurrency Council,” will be led by former college football player and failed Republican congressional candidate Beau Hines. As part of OSTP, advising Trump on artificial intelligence policy will be Sriram Krishnan, who has extensive Silicon Valley experience and has worked at Andreessen Horowitz, X, Meta and Snap.
