Turok: Origins will revisit the dinosaur hunter in a third-person shooter with co-op

Will the bullets never stop hitting my favorite dinosaurs? Turok: Origins We revisit dinosaur bowhunting on the old Nintendo 64, reimagining it as the story of three local hunters who beat up big lizards. What’s new is that it will be a third-person shooter, and you’ll be able to play in online co-op as a team of T-rex pests. You then absorb their dinosaur DNA to improve your character. Come and watch these crimes against nature in the trailer below.

Apparently there will be a lot of melee attacks, but shooting is shooting. Players are promised “plasma rifles, ray guns, snipers, bows, shotguns and more,” and DNA powers will complement this combat (one power looks like a bubble that freezes time). There is a story somewhere worth following, but we haven’t been told what it is yet. Only that it is “epic” and the warriors will visit many bizarre locations “from ancient temples and desert canyons to dense jungles.”

This isn’t the first time the series has been revived. A reboot simply titled The Turk was released in 2008 and received mixed reviews. It sold well enough for developers at Propaganda Games to begin work on a sequel, but not well enough to prevent a sequel. will be canceled next yearwhich led to the layoff of 70 people at the studio. How times change, eh? Today we will never see such ruthless layoffs!

Anyway. It’s made by Saber Interactive, a publisher with multiple studios specializing in licensed properties and a relatively safe pair of hands. They did Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2, World War Z, Evil Dead: The Gameamong others. Saber are also working on another dinosaur game. Jurassic Park: Survivalwhich seems less cruel to beautiful creatures and therefore morally more forgivable.

If I’m annoyed by Jungle Shooter, please forgive me. It was shown off at The Game Awards, which aired early this morning and took out all of my Rock Paper brothers, leaving only two alive: me and guide guru Jeremy. The team posted most of the news, and before Ollie passed away from chronic video game illness, he wrote a huge summary post all games presented at the Game Awards 2024. It’s very convenient.
