UK Secret Order Demands That Apple Give Access to Users’ Encrypted Data
As Elon Musk and his so -called government department raised in federal institutions of the United States, this week WireD reported DOGE members, activities and digital access to some of the most delicate and critical programs of the US government. One DOGE technologist, 19-year-old graduate of high school, Edward Coristin, created at least five different companies over the past four years, including Tesla.sexy LLC, and briefly worked in a network for monitoring, which hired convicted hackers. Experts are wondering if there will be Coristic, who has gone called “Big Balls” on the Internet, to go through the data verification, usually required to access the sensitive state systems of the United States.
Meanwhile, the obvious dismantling of the Doga, combined with the freezing of financing of the US State Department, sharply violated efforts to help people avoid forced labor camps in Southeast Asia, controlled by criminal scammers.
Outside of the US state news, Wired conducted an investigation of more than 300 kibebarata over the past five years against schools K – 12 and found that victim schools sometimes hold critical information about the scale and volume of violations from influencing students and parents. In several best news, the data of the company tracing cryptocurrencies show that extortionists of the extortionists fell sharply in the second half of 2024. Experts are afraid, however, that a brief delay can be short -lived and can be difficult for defenders.
And there is still. Every week we collect news about safety and confidentiality that did not illuminate. Click on the headlines to read full stories. And stay safe there.
On Friday, The Washington Post reported that Apple received a secret order from the office of the Minister of Internal Affairs of Great Britain, which orders the company to provide a way to access any user data protected by the extended security of the company’s data for ICLUD. This function, which debuted at the end of 2022, was developed with through encryption, so only users themselves, and not Apple, have access to their data. As a result, compliance with demand in the UK would require Apple to break this function by embedding Backdor into it. Sources informed The Post that instead of installing Backdor, Apple would probably revoke support for extended data protection for ICLUD in the UK. “Nevertheless, this concession will not fulfill the British demand for access to services in other countries, including in the United States,” the report said.
The order was issued in accordance with the Law on Britain in the UK in 2016. British law enforcement agencies, not to mention police officers in the USA and other countries, defended encryption for many years, and the lawmakers tried at different times in the mandate. The Ministry of Internal Affairs informed The Post in its statement: “We do not comment on operational issues, including, for example, confirmation or refusal to exist of any such notifications.” The representative of Apple refused to comment on the post.
The Prime Minister of Israel Benjamin Netanyahu gave President Donald Trump Golden Pager when they met in Washington on Tuesday. The gift refers to the September attack in Lebanon on the Chizball militant, in which the pagers (and move) exploded in absorbed pager (and hilly crustaceans) as a result of coordinated explosions throughout the country. According to Lebanese officials, the operation died at least 42 people, including some civilians, and at least 4,000 civilians were injured. The attack was widely connected with Israel, but the country did not confirm and did not refute its participation. At the meeting, Trump, obviously, gave Netanyahu a signed photo of their two, which he signed: “Bibi, the great leader!”
Hewlett Packard Enterprise notifies dozens of users that their personal information was stolen during a violation of 2023. The company attributes an attack by Russian state hackers. The stolen data included social insurance numbers, information about the driver’s license and credit card numbers. The incident began as an invasion of the system in May 2023 in HPE and Microsoft SharePoint Systems mailboxes. HPE publicly revealed the incident in January 2024.
The giant giant Edtech states that at least 16,000 students in the United Kingdom stole their data as part of a mass December data violation, which may have influenced 62 million students and 9.5 million teachers, most of which in the USA and Canada. Attackers used compromised accounting data to penetrate the company’s customer support portal, and then gain access to user data.
The representative of PowerSchool Beth Keler confirmed TechCrunch in his statement that students in four British schools suffered as a total of “about 16,000 students”. It is unclear whether this is the total number of victims of Great Britain. The compromised data includes students’ birth dates, contact information, some medical data and “other related information”.
