British Culture Secretary, Lisa Nandyhas written to video-sharing platforms such as YouTube and TikTok, urging them to promote Higher quality educational content to the children. Recent statistics show that although children watched an average of two hours of television a day a decade ago, this has since dropped by more than 70%. Instead, children migrate to YoutubeTikTok and other streaming platforms for ages four to eight, Nandy said. She told BBC Radio 4’s Today program that the government initially wanted to “open a dialogue” with the platforms but would consider stepping in if they did not comply with the rules. The Guardian
Scientists create tiny VR goggles for mice This way they can better study animal behavior in virtual reality. Cornell University researchers created MouseGoggles using low-cost, off-the-shelf components such as smart watch displays and tiny lenses. They then put the headphones on the mice and watched how they responded to different stimuli.
