Viral star Charlie the Unicorn returns in surprise new 2024 video

Incredibly, one of the biggest viral hits of the 2000s is back this holiday season: Charlie the Unicorn.

Created by Jason Steele of FilmCow, the original “Unicorn CharlieFlash animated shorts were released on Newgrounds in 2005, catering to the cultural vernacular of the millennial generation who finally came online. Steele’s “Charlie” shorts feature a compact design featuring a pair of pink and blue saccharine unicorns with eroded teeth who relentlessly bother the suspicious and foul-mouthed Charlie to join them. An endlessly capricious adventure filled with classic middle-aged random humor. At the climax of each short, Charlie involuntarily succumbs to their relentless pleasure and begins to enjoy himself—at which point they knock him on the head and traffic in one of his organs.

When you write it out like this, it really makes you think: Did you know? Skibidi toilets very good.

Steele spun out a number of sequels, parodies, and spin-offs throughout the ’00s and teens, culminating in 2021’s “Charlie Ending.” The YouTube algorithm gave me a “Charlie the Unicorn Like” moment of peace. And, spoilers, however, the title is accurate.

In the new film, nothing bad happens to Charlie at all, and he’s allowed to seriously engage in a truly whimsical moment without any worries. any negative consequences.
