What will be the plot of Virgin River Season 7?
Spoilers for Virgin River season six follow.
Despite several obstacles along the way (big and small), Mel and Jack had the wedding of their dreams. Now another huge change is happening in their lives: the baby is officially born.
Mel had several heartbreaking miscarriages and had to come to terms with her difficult journey to conceiving. At the beginning of the season, the couple discussed the long adoption process. To their surprise, a child may be joining their family sooner than they thought.
Marley was a patient at Mel’s new maternity hospital and was planning to give her baby to a local couple. The day after the wedding, Marley unexpectedly showed up at Mel’s hut, distraught because she believed that the husband and wife were going to leave the agreement.

So she told Mel she wanted her to have the baby instead. The couple had talked about adoption and parenthood earlier this season, so Marley knew Mel really wanted it.
Alexandra Breckenridge gave the following quote TVLine: “I’m really excited to play Mel becoming a mother, knowing what it all means to her… all these emotions will come out when she finally becomes the mother she’s wanted to be pretty much her whole life.”
But Mal and Jack becoming parents wasn’t the only exciting moment of season six. The final shot showed Jack checking on Charmaine, who didn’t attend the wedding.
Her front door was left ajar and the house was in disarray. Jack opened the twins’ bedroom door with a look of horror on his face. We don’t know what he saw, but we do know that former gang leader Calvin forced Charmaine to see the children after she lifted the restraining order.
We’ll likely see what happened to Charmaine, and whether there’s any danger to anyone else in town – Calvin already threatened Jack earlier in the season.
Another key plot of the seventh season is the possible closure of Doc’s clinic. Vernon was under investigation by Dr. Hayes after undergoing a controversial but life-saving operation.
His license was then suspended, a decision that seemed odd given his years of experience. However, Hope said Grays Valley Hospital wanted to expand into Virgin River, so there may be some urgency involved in ending the clinic.

Muriel will continue her fight against breast cancer, showrunners say TVLine who want to show it from the other side. “Now we’ve seen her persistence in making a diagnosis, and in season seven we’ll move on to treating it. A positive outlook on life-threatening diseases seems like a story worth telling the world.”
The same interview also confirmed that this is the last we’ve seen of Mark Ghanime as Cameron.
In the latest episode, Mike decided to pop the question to Bree. She finally told him about sleeping with Brady, but Mike already knew. Given all this, who will Jack’s sister choose?
Brady admitted that before the ceremony he still felt like it was her, and Lark overheard it. In retaliation, she stole all the money from his bank account and left town.
Brady will no doubt try to get his money back, and Mike may confront him about the matter.
Netflix
There’s also Lizzie and Denny, who are expecting their own child. They are young parents, but they prepared well and discussed the possible future of their girl, taking into account hereditary Huntington’s disease.
It’s possible that Mel and Lizzie will grow closer on their journey to new motherhood.
Finally, Kaya admitted to Preacher that marriage is not something she sees in her plans after her recent divorce. Can a couple find a way forward in their relationship if they want different things?
Smith told Deadline that the new season will begin approximately two hours after the events of the finale, so there will be no time jump.
