WhatsApp The latest update makes chatting during the holidays even more festive. The app introduces Party Poppers Emoticons As the seventh preset reaction, users are given a quick way to add a celebratory touch. The update also includes dynamic confetti animations for certain party emojis.
We were informed of these changes via a recent post on our website Beta Information Western Australiawe’ve confirmed them on the Galaxy S24 Plus. These features are available on compatible devices across all platforms, including Android and iOS, personal chats, group chats, and even channels.
WhatsApp default emoji reactions are the emojis that appear in the reaction tray when you tap and hold on a message, such as thumbs up and heart emojis. As shown in the first screenshot below, the party popup now appears after the praying emoji. This way you can add it with just two taps without having to search through the full list of emojis.
New confetti animations now appear when you react to messages with specific emojis. The party cracker is one of the triggering emojis, along with party faces and confetti balls. The second screenshot above shows the animation during activation.
However, according to Beta Information Western Australia Once released, these changes may be temporary during the holiday season. While the confetti animation may continue to be a part of WhatsApp emoji reactions after the holidays, the popular party emoji may not remain in the default tray after the season ends.
The updates are gradually rolling out to users on Android and iOS. To explore these holiday features, make sure your app is updated to the latest version available.
