At this point, even Samsung can’t be sure when it will be ready to release a stable version. One UI 7 update for devices other than Galaxy S25. The upcoming flagship series is expected to run One UI 7, but what about older Galaxy devices? When will they get the next generation update?
We can only guess based on recent events and rumors. Samsung did something different this time, opening the One UI 7 beta program later than usual and to fewer devices than before.
Additionally, the previous One UI 6.1 update was delayed for older Galaxy phones last year. One UI 6.1 was the first to feature Galaxy AIand adding or excluding an AI package on a case-by-case basis resulted in changes to development timelines. Thus, the One UI 6.1 launch schedule is a poor guide to guess Samsung’s plans for One UI 7.0.
With that said, we think Samsung may release a stable version of One UI 7.
- Firstly, the Galaxy S25 series will be introduced with One UI 7 on January 22.. The phones will likely go on sale a week or two after the pre-order period.
- Samsung may begin rolling out the stable One UI 7 update to older flagship Galaxy phones in February. This includes the Galaxy S24 and Galaxy S23, as well as the Galaxy Z Fold & Flip 5 and 6.
- It’s unclear whether older, eligible Galaxy flagships will receive the One UI 7 stable update in the same month as the new ones. Technically speaking, the Galaxy S21 and S22 series, as well as the Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Flip 3 are eligible for One UI 7. However, there is a possibility that they may lag a little behind the new models.
- Mid-range Galaxy phones and perhaps some low-end phones may start receiving the stable One UI 7 update in March or April.
- Trying to guess the release of new updates for Galaxy tablets is always a bit of a bummer. However, eligible devices include the Tab S8 series and later, including the S9 FE series.
Keep in mind that these estimated One UI 7 release dates are not official and are not set in any way. Don’t make plans around these deadlines and you won’t be needlessly disappointed if things don’t go as we expect.
