In many ways, the deeper superman In many of Hollywood’s film iterations and character permutations, whether on the big screen or television, the mythology has barely been touched upon.
In the director’s new trailer James Gunn’s Summer 2025》supermanStarring David Corenswet, the project appears to be exploring more members of the Man of Steel universe, including Krypto, Mister Terrific and Metamorpho.
But there’s one brief scene that left many non-geeks confused about a character’s identity, and that’s the emotional shot of Superman kneeling in agony next to a dying, broken robot and clutching its metal hand.
We believe the robot is likely Kelex, a version of Superman from the Superman comics who also briefly appeared in Zack Snyder’s 2013 Man of Steel. Featuring guest appearances with Jor-El, Lara Croft, and other robots. on board.
Who is Kelex?

Some fans believe this robot could be Amazo or Metallo, but that’s far-fetched and we doubt the Supers will be saddened by the deaths of these supervillains.
Kelex made the grade and was included in this big-budget reboot of the Superman saga as a link to Kal-El’s Kryptonian heritage, which is encouraging since James Gunn seems to have a lot of interest in his The detailed lore of the script is taken very seriously.
