Xbox’s next Developer Direct will spotlight Doom: The Dark Ages and more
Xbox has confirmed that there will be another Developer_Direct later this month, offering a fresh look at games such as Doom: Dark Ages, South of MidnightAnd Chiaroscuro: Expedition 33. Additionally, somewhere during the presentation we’ll see a “brand new game” from the mysterious studio.
Developer_Direct January 2025 will take place on the official Xbox social media channels at 10am PT on January 23rd. This is the latest version of the demo that Xbox started in 2023 and is meant to give us a deeper look at upcoming Xbox games and the studios behind them. Hi-Fi Rush famous fallen into shadow after the first Developer_Direct, and at previous exhibitions such games as Indiana Jones and the Big CircleMinecraft Legends, Forza Motorsport, Redfall, recognized, Senua Saga: Hellblade IIVisions of ManaAnd Macaw: The Untold Story.
This show is all about the games we know are coming out later this year, with Xbox wire post tantalizing details about each. We’ll finally get “full disclosure” Doom: Dark AgesiD Software’s latest shooter, first announced at Xbox 2024 Games Presentation. “Deep Dive” in South of Midnight is also confirmed, giving us another look at the adventure game inspired by the folklore of the American Deep South that impressed Digital Trends when we saw it in action at Complusion Games last November..
On the side front Chiaroscuro: Expedition 33 will also appear. This gorgeous RPG made an impression at the latest Xbox presentation, and developer Sandfall Interactive is ready to take a look behind the scenes of the game and “share more about the creation of the game and how they plan to deliver an incredible story in a magnificent fantasy world.” Hopefully we’ll get release dates for these highly anticipated Game Pass games.
The most exciting part of this Developer_Direct is that the Xbox Wire post says that they will be “visiting an unexpected location to see another studio’s new game.” Although Xbox doesn’t say anything more about it, rumors suggest this could be a remake of Unreal Engine 5 The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion. However, the “brand new game” phrasing seems to dispel that possibility, so we’ll have to tune into the show when it premieres in a couple of weeks to see if that’s true.
