Xiaomi to launch a Snapdragon 8 Elite powered tablet this year

Flagship Android tablets running Qualcomm’s latest and greatest chipset are very, very rare, even though flagship smartphones are updated to the top-end SoC every year. There are currently no tablets using the Snapdragon 8 Elite, but that could change if a new rumor from a tipster on the X turns out to be true.

He claims that Xiaomi is working on a new tablet powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite and this beast will be released later this year.

Unfortunately, there is no more detailed information about the device at the moment. However, using this very expensive chipset automatically means that the rest of the specs also need to be high-end – otherwise they will feel like a mismatch. So expect a large, high-resolution screen, at least 8GB of RAM (but possibly 12GB or even 16GB), and a 10,000mAh-plus battery. We’ll let you know when we know more.
